A group of grocery stores – including Stop & Shop, Hannaford and Food Lion – are facing outages to their websites and mobile apps this week.
Ahold Delhaize USA, the parent company of the grocery store chains and others, said in a statement on Monday that was later updated on Tuesday that it was experiencing a cybersecurity issue within its network.
The issue prompted the company to take “precautionary measures, including taking some systems offline to help protect them.”

“As they make progress in assessing and mitigating the issues, we are in the process of starting a controlled re-launch of certain systems,” the company said.

Customers may place delivery orders through Instacart, DoorDash, and Uber Eats. Any unfulfilled orders placed through FoodLion.com or the Food Lion app will be refunded.”
“We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience,” the statement on the Food Lion website added.
Physical stores remain open to shoppers.
